Terms & Conditions
Last reviewed: 2026-05-25
These terms explain how you may use Compass AI. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to use it for its intended purpose: calm, plain-English help with digital safety, scam recovery, account access, accessibility, and related support.
1. What Compass AI is
Compass AI provides guided self-help, case notes, evidence-pack support, and, where appropriate, referral to trained human volunteers or coordinators. It is designed to help you slow down, understand what is happening, and take safer next steps.
2. What Compass AI is not
Compass AI is not an emergency service and is not a substitute for professional legal, medical, financial, safeguarding, or law-enforcement advice. In an emergency call 999. For UK banking scam concerns, call 159 to reach your bank through a trusted route.
3. Your responsibilities
- Use the service honestly and only for lawful support needs.
- Do not upload abusive, exploitative, illegal, or deliberately misleading content.
- Do not try to bypass security controls, role-based access, audit logging, or account protections.
- Do not share another person's private information unless you have a legitimate reason to ask for help on their behalf.
4. Accounts and security
You are responsible for keeping your sign-in method secure. Compass AI stores session cookies as httpOnly cookies and does not ask for your passwords, banking codes, one-time passcodes, or card PINs in chat. If you think your account is being misused, sign out of other sessions or contact support.
5. AI answers and human support
AI replies may be incomplete or wrong. Treat them as guided support, not a final authority. When a case appears high risk, repeatedly difficult, or better handled by a person, Compass may suggest or request human follow-up. You can also ask for human help yourself.
6. Volunteers and staff
Volunteers, coordinators, and partner staff must follow safeguarding procedures, least-privilege data access, and confidentiality requirements. Staff actions are audit-logged. Resident data must not be downloaded, screenshotted, copied, or shared outside approved Compass workflows unless explicitly authorised by policy and law.
7. Suspension or removal
Compass may restrict or remove access where there is misuse, security risk, suspected harm, or repeated breach of these terms. Where required, serious misuse may be reported to the appropriate authority.
8. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the service develops. Material changes will be made clear before they apply to your continued use of the service.
